Hello, I'm Amanda 🙂
I've had doggy companions all my life, all rescue dogs apart from our first family dog, a Norfolk Terrier called Bobby. My own first dog was an Irish greyhound named Danny who I adopted in 1993 while living in Canterbury, UK, and I've had greyhound companions ever since, and pointers (as the first pointer I adopted was in the rescue pretending to be a greyhound, but that's another story...)
I'm passionate about dogs, while also being a nurse by profession, so it made sense to decide to work with them. Hence I trained as a groomer and have started grooming at home, for folks' own dogs and also to help the local rescues with any welfare situations which I will do free of charge. So, by coming to me for grooming, you'll also be helping rescue dogs' welfare.
I'm 63 now so for health reasons I only groom small to medium dogs please. I have a ramp up to my bath which dogs are very happy to use going down and out of the bath but not so keen going up it! I'm very keen that dogs enjoy their grooming experience so I give them plenty of breaks in a secure area during my grooms. And I'm extremely concerned for the environment so I only use environmentally-friendly, cruelty-free products in my grooming parlour.
Feel free to visit before booking your friend in for grooming but please phone first to make sure I'm here.
I look forward to chatting to you and to meeting your furry friend.
Thanks, Amanda.
